It’s not often you see online music publications make it twenty years. It’s even more rare to see them continue to expand and get better, and it’s near impossible to see them continue without running actual ads. I decided to take inspiration in God Is In the TV’s continued independence and make my top 20 tracks of the last twenty years reflect my time running an indie record shop and pick the indie tracks that when playing on a busy Saturday made customers notice and ask “who are you playing”. (I also run an indie label and do publicity so I’ve excluded any artists that I’ve worked with on that level for fairness.) Listed alphabetically

Apples In Stereo – Energy (Yep Roc / Elephant 6)
