Dublin band Sprints share a video for their current single ‘Modern Job‘ taken from their forthcoming EP due out on 11 March 2022 on Nice Swan Records. ‘Modern Job‘ had its first outing on Steve Lamacq Radio 6Music show and has lead singer/guitarist Karla Chubb raging ferociously against the pressures of society’s expectations. The lyrics are personal but relatable. They observe a state of not fitting in, of being conflicted with the dichotomy of wanting to be ‘normal’ but at the same time having a desire to be yourself.
The new video shows Sprints at their most explosive, intercutting their ferocious performance with clips from the 1950’s perfect nuclear family plus Karla posing with her parents taking a family photo. She is getting more and more stressed by the pressures of trying to be normal. This builds and builds as ‘Modern Job‘ progresses with the resulting physical impact on Karla. The performance clips of the track are blistering demonstrating the energy this band creates onstage full of their own unique garage punk sound. And watch to the very end for the final outcome.
