Watch: Lady Gaga and U2 Bring the Deep End to The Sphere with “Shallow” and More

Last night, Lady Gaga joined U2 during their performance at The Sphere in Las Vegas as part of their U2:UV Achtung Baby Live series. The music icons collaborations included U2’s “All I Want Is You,” a powerful rendition of “Shallow” from the film A Star Is Born and “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” off The Joshua Tree.

Before welcoming Lady Gaga joined the band on stage Bono explained he’d never performed “All I Want Is You” with a woman, though he’s performed it to women and it was written from the point of a woman. He then described Lady Gaga as “not just any woman but the most audacious, vivacious woman in any room she’s ever in.”

Lady Gaga’s recent appearance with U2 follows her Rolling Stones sit-in at the Racket Club in New York City just last week. During the gathering, a surprise album release party, they belted out “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” from the Rolling Stones’ Hackney Diamonds.

The collaboration at the Sphere wasn’t Lady Gaga’s first encounter with U2 – back in 2015, she made an unexpected appearance during their Innocence + Experience Tour. Lady Gaga joined them on said tour during their stop at Madison Square Garden to perform “Ordinary Love.”

“Shallow” was co-authored by Lady Gaga with Mark Ronson, Andrew Wyatt, and Anthony Rossomando, and was co-produced alongside Benjamin Rice. Notably, Lady Gaga and Cooper graced the Oscars stage in 2019, where their rendition clinched the Academy Award for Best Original Song.

U2 introduced The Sphere in Las Vegas back in September, and since its launch, they’ve been gracing the innovative venue with regular performances, making it a must-visit spot.
