Tulane University has announced the return of its seventh annual all-star benefit concert, Tipping Point, which will occur on October 20 at The Fillmore New Orleans. The charitable coming together aims to support scholarship endeavors for at-need students, representing the succeeding generation of change-makers endowed with the continued work of the university’s efforts.

The impending event will unite a unique grouping of blues-rock icons, such as headliner Warren Haynes, who will be joined by fellow musicians like Joe Bonamassa, Allen Stone, Celisse, George Porter Jr., Jolynda Phillips, and Erica Falls. The night of music and charity will also see Eric Krasno serve as the evening’s music director, leading an all-star New Orleans house band featuring Ivan Neville, Tony Hall, Raymond Weber, and Mark Mullins & The Levee Horns,

Moreover, New Orleans-based festival producer and director Dr. Quint Davis will return to host The Tipping Point. The CEO of Festival Productions, Inc., Davis is best known as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival producer. He attended Tulane before starting a career in the music industry and received an honorary degree at the university’s 2023 Commencement.

The Tipping Point is the only concert series of its kind that supports a university. Proceeds from The Tipping Point will fund scholarships that will enable students to attend Tulane regardless of their economic background. “Ensuring that a Tulane education is accessible to all qualified students is central to our mission. We are honored and excited that top artists from New Orleans and around the country are willing to share their talents to support our students as they pursue their dreams,” Tulane President Michael A. Fitts said.

“The Tipping Point is a cultural and musical highlight for New Orleans, Tulane University, and the local music community,” said Davis. “RWE founders Greg Williamson and Nicole Rechter have created, and continue to create a fresh and inspiring annual fundraiser, and we are very grateful to them.”
