Stella Blue’s Band Announce Double Header at The Cutting Room in New York City

Stella Blue’s Band have announced plans to perform two full concerts at The Cutting Room in New York City on the night of August 1. CEG and Dayglo present the shows, the first of which is scheduled for 8 p.m. E.T., followed by an 11:59 p.m. gig, billed as a Phish After-Show following Phish’s performance at Madison Square Garden.

Notably, the date of the concerts doubles as what would have been Jerry Garcia’s 81st birthday, adding another layer of celebration to the gathering. Stella Blue’s Band was founded in 2009 with the intent to capture the experience of Grateful Dead live shows by exhibiting dynamic jams and artful improvisations.

Recently, Stella Blue’s Band paid homage to the Grateful Dead’s highly regarded May 5, 1968, free concert, which included Jefferson Airplane and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, by returning to the fabled Naumburg Bandshell and drawing crowds of over 1,500 fans.

Of note, The Cutting Room concerts are a mere four blocks from the esteemed Madison Square Garden, the location of Phish’s New York City stand, which commences on July 28 and extends through August 5. Learn more about Phish’s impending summer tour here.

Tickets for early and late shows at The Cutting Room are on sale now.
