On Friday night, Alanis Morrisette served as the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During the late-night appearance, the musician performed a seasonal tune to celebrate the holidays, landing on the Wham! classic, “Last Christmas,” which appeared on her recently dropped Christmas EP, also named after the 1984 track.

Besides the title track, Morrisette’s Last Christmas EP also features her rendition of John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s co-written “Happy Xmas (War is Over),” as well as the holiday classic “Little Drummer Boy” and the old-timey carol “What Child Is This?”

During Friday’s televised performance, Morrisette stepped into the role of Wham! lead singer, George Micheals, and applied her emotive mezzo-soprano vocals to the popularized British holiday track, seamlessly picking up the seasonal song with an extra dose of cheer akin to the spirit of the holiday.
