Who’s Next: Golden Era Records’ Adelaide artists to watch in 2020

Golden Era Records have been a consistent and welcome mainstay within the Australian hip-hop landscape for well over a decade now, releasing music from the likes of Hilltop Hoods, A.B Original and Shadow among many others.

Golden Era Records label manager Ben Martin gave us five of the most promising Adelaide artists to keep a close eye on as 2020 ramps up.

Goobsy

“Goobsy is raw as fuck. With a commanding presence on and off stage he is definitely one to watch. His debut album ‘FAT BOY’ dropped earlier this year. His shotgun style delivery is reminiscent of some of the older greats but with a new school flavor.”

Skelter

“From Adelaide’s South, Skelter (who also produces under the name Corpse) is a 20 year old rapper/ producer who started posting music to Soundcloud in 2015. Heavily influenced by artists like Travis Scott, Lil Peep, Don Toliver. One to watch for sure.”

Lil HT

“Wearing influences like XXXTentacion on his sleeve, Lil HT is a compelling songwriter with an interesting sound.”

Elsy Wameyo

“Adelaide via Kenya, Elsy Wameyo is one to keep an eye on this year. On the scene for a few years but recently has really fine tuned her sound. Interested to see what this talented singer does next.”

EAST AV3

“After already playing Listen Out festival, East Av3 is well on their way to being noticed. But they definitely should be a part of this list.”
