“Thank you so much to culture, who stood beside me” Where she continues, “For all of my black girls, we do have to fight a little harder to get what we deserve. But don’t stop fighting, even when it doesn’t make sense and you’re not sure how you’re gonna get out of those circumstances, keep pushing because we are deserving of great things y’all. And I’m going to continue to give ya’ll my everything.”

Coco Jones’ Musical Journey
While the former Disney star may seem like a newcomer to some, she has worked hard in the entertainment industry for years. Her journey began with her participation in Disney Channel’s reality series Next Big Thing in 2010, which provided a platform for her to showcase her talent.
After signing with Hollywood Records, she released her debut single, “Holla At The DJ,” in 2012 and her EP Made Of in 2013. Jones’ career flourished as she embarked on a tour with Mindless Behavior and starred in the Disney Channel movie Let It Shine, where she played the lead role as Roxie and contributed songs to the soundtrack.
Navigating Challenges & Embracing Independence
In 2020, Coco Jones courageously addressed the issue of colorism in the entertainment industry. In a personal YouTube video titled “What Really Happened?” she shared her experiences and revealed the unfair standards and biases she encountered due to her skin color. Despite these challenges, Jones persevered and continued to pursue her passion.
Following her appearance in the Peacock series Bel-Air in 2021, she released her long-awaited EP titled, What I Didn’t Tell You in 2022 under Def Jam Recordings.
