Snoop Dogg and country music star Chris Stapleton have joined forces to create the theme song for Monday Night Football on ESPN. The song debuted during the Monday Night Football game between the Cleveland Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

On September 18, Snoop Dogg and Chris Stapleton teamed up to create a new staple song for ESPN’s Monday Night Football

The duo remixed the iconic 1981 hit “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins, with Stapleton lending his vocals and Snoop adding his signature rap verse.

Fans on social media had mixed reactions to the new theme song. While some praised the collaboration, with one user commenting, “This is pretty fire tbh,” and another saying “I could run through a brick wall after this intro!” others did not approve with one user commenting, “Phil Collins still did it better.” 

Both Snoop and Chris Stapleton have had recent successful appearances in the world of sports. Stapleton received widespread acclaim for his powerful rendition of the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII, while Snoop performed during the halftime show at Super Bowl LVI alongside Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

‘Monday Night Football’ Craze

In related news, producer Timbaland and singer Justin Timberlake have also reunited to collaborate and curate music for the upcoming 2023 season of Monday Night Football on ESPN. Their music will be featured in promotional spots, live telecasts, and pre-shows for various games throughout the season.

In another instance of a rapper creating a theme song for a sports-related show, Lil Wayne released a 50-second song titled “Good Morning” for the Fox Sports 1 debate show, Undisputed, featuring sports journalist Skip Bayless. The rap legend will also make appearances on the show on Fridays.
