Saucy Santana, the vibrant rapper known for hits like “Material Gworl,” is making waves in the LGBTQ+ community. In a powerful new digital series by iONE Digital called Say It Loud: Black, Queer & Proud, Saucy Santana joins other prominent figures to celebrate and highlight the experiences of the Black LGBTQ+ community during Pride Month. Part 1 of the series delves into Santana’s journey, discussing coming out, the challenges faced, and the impact on his career.

Saucy Santana, an openly gay and gender non-conforming artist, rose to fame through TikTok with his catchy songs like “Walk” and “Material Gworl.” The series reveals Santana’s upbringing in a religious household, where expressing his femininity posed challenges to his mother, who is a pastor. 

Despite facing adversity, Santana bravely embraced his identity and became a prominent voice in the LGBTQ+ community. The discussions in the series aim to create dialogue and understanding by bringing together different generations and diverse voices within the Black LGBTQ+ community.

“Say It Loud: Black, Queer & Proud” 

Moderated by Atlanta’s openly gay Bishop Oliver Clyde Allen III, the digital series provides a platform for influential figures like the “Booty” artist to share their personal experiences. The series also features music artist MK xyz and Billboard-charting singer Tanya Nolan

Part 1 of the series focuses on Santana’s journey, including his coming-out experience and the unfortunate exposure by a family member. The discussions touch upon how identity informs the professional side of the participants, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by the Black LGBTQ+ community.

While Part 1 of the series has already launched on June 21, 2023, the audience can look forward to Part 2, scheduled for release in the fall. This ongoing series aims to shed light on the experiences, struggles, and triumphs of the Black LGBTQ+ community, fostering inclusivity and understanding.
