Rolling Loud and Miami Heat’s “Action Week” Benefits Florida Youth Amidst Anti-Black Political Environment

Rolling Loud and the Miami Heat joined forces for an action-packed week of community initiatives and festivities leading up to the weekend music festival.  The community events sought to engage and make a positive impact on Miami youth amidst recent state legislation that has been slammed by the NAACP as “anti-black.”

Rolling Loud Action Week Makes Positive Impact

Tariq Cheriff and Matt Zingler, the founders of Rolling Loud, are making sure to leave a positive mark on Miami youth when their festival rolls thru the weekend of July 21-23rd.

The pair kicked off a partnership with Miami Heat players Udonis Haslem and Haywood Highsmith with a clinic on Wednesday, July 19, for 50 kids from the Miami Gardens Life Skills and Summer Thrill camp. The young participants were treated to an unforgettable experience that included local community initiatives, skateboarding, basketball clinics, and more.

The collaboration didn’t stop there. Throughout the week, renowned platforms and brands such as Forever 21 and Billionaire Boys Club joined in to support the initiative, further enhancing the impact of this remarkable event.

The week climaxes with the renowned three-day Rolling Loud Music Festival featuring headliners Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and ASAP Rocky.

Community Action In Wake of NAACP Travel Advisory

This recent community action by Rolling Loud comes in the wake of NAACP’s warning against travel to Florida.   One of the critical issues cited by the NAACP surrounds the decision by state Governor Ron DeSantis to block an African-American history AP course from being taught in Florida’s public schools as well as recent moves by the Board of Education to teach middle school students that the institution of slavery benefited enslaved Africans.

50 Cent & Minnesota Timberwolves Benefit Local Community

This isn’t the first time that a sports organization has partnered with a notable figure in the entertainment world for a community-driven initiative. In March 2023, 50 Cent and his brand Sire Spirits teamed up with the Minnesota Timberwolves, creating exciting initiatives for fans and local communities.
