Rihanna Steps Down As CEO Of Savage X Fenty, Fans Express Concerns

Rihanna has made the decision to step down as the CEO of her renowned lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. While she will no longer hold the CEO position, Bad Gal Riri will maintain a leadership role within the company. The announcement of former Anthropologie Group CEO Hilary Super taking the helm of the brand has sparked mixed reactions among fans.

After five years of leading Savage X Fenty as its CEO since its inception in 2018, Rihanna has decided to pass the torch to someone new. On June 24th, Vogue Business announced via their Instagram account that Hilary Super, former CEO of Anthropologie Group, would be taking over as the brand’s leader.

The “Lift Me Up” singer remains optimistic about the future of Savage X Fenty and its continued impact on the industry. The Fenty mogul expressed gratitude for the immense impact Savage X Fenty has made in the industry, stating that “this is just the beginning for us [the brand].” Rihanna also holds a 30% stake in the company and co-owns Savage X Fenty with luxury goods giant LVMH and Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners.

Rihanna Navy Sounds Off

However, the news of Rihanna’s decision to step down from the CEO position sparked various reactions from fans on social media. Some trusted the Bajan native’s judgment, and many were worried this might impact Savage X Fenty’s commitment to fair wages and affordability. Concerns were also raised about Anthropologies alleged practices of underpaying employees while selling overpriced clothing.

One user commented, “I trust your judgment even if it is a white woman. Confused but I trust you sis. Anthropolgie under pays their employees for over priced clothing. High price point clothing and low wages. Hope this doesn’t happen at Savage X Fenty.”

Another Instagram user, who identified as a former Anthropologie employee, expressed their disappointment, stating that they left the company because it stood for values contrary to those of Savage X Fenty, “As a former Anthropologie employee….yikes, the reason I left the company was because they seemed to stand for the opposite of everything Savage X Fenty stands against.”

A fan voiced their concern about the potential decline in quality and price increase, predicting a negative impact on both the products and the workers’ quality of life. Despite these concerns, it is important to note that Rihanna will retain a leadership role within the company, suggesting that her vision and values will still guide the brand’s direction.

In other Rihanna news, the superstar and businesswoman was recently spotted at the Louis Vuitton show in Paris, where she shared an affectionate moment with basketball player LeBron James. James was seen rubbing Riri’s pregnant belly during their encounter, creating a buzz among fans and the media.
