Brooklyn rapper Papoose has just been named the head of hip-hop for music distributor Tunecore. In a brief message, he also says he would like for rappers to sign with them and stop signing “bad deals.”

Brooklyn rapper Papoose has just announced that he is the head of hip-hop for music distributor, Tunecore.

Papoose, who is also the husband of Bronx rapper Remy Ma, excitingly shared a video of him announcing his new role and also encourages rappers to sign there and stop signing “bad deals.”

Reports of bad deals in hip-hop have existed for decades, and in recent times, many rappers have experienced lousy contracts and disputes with a label.

“Bad Deals”

Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion has had disputes over album negotiations with her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment. Due to the conflicts, she was granted a restraining order against the label.

Memphis rapper GloRilla had a dispute with her producer HitKidd over her hit song “F.N.F.” and claimed she was not paid

Former Bad Boy label artist Mase was called out by Brooklyn rapper Fivio Foreign after, claiming he was not paid upfront for signing with him.

Other artists avoided a bad deal such as Dreamville rapper JID who said he turned down a contract from Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan and called the offer “disgusting.”

Papoose has not announced if any current rappers have signed with Tunecore.
