Megan Thee Stallion has embarked on a new philanthropic endeavor. In partnership with the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, the Houston Hottie announced the launch of the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge.
Megan For The Better
On Oct. 11, the #BlackGirlJoyChallenge was launched, a collaboration between the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium, The Pete and Thomas Foundation (Megan Thee Stallion’s non-profit), and NIKE, coinciding with the International Day of the Girl Child.
On The Pete and Thomas Foundation post, the caption wrote:

What Are the Odds?
Applicants who successfully pitch their ideas through the application process stand a chance to win a $550 challenge award.
The aim is to select 100 young women and girls from all Southern states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, East Texas, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Virginia. The #BlackGirlJoyChallenge will run for approximately two weeks from October 11 to October 25.
To participate in the challenge, eligible applicants need to follow several steps. First, they must register and attend a workshop. Then, they are required to create an account on Foundant, an application management platform.
As part of the challenge, applicants are encouraged to showcase their philanthropic efforts by sharing knowledge about their communities’ needs, identifying regional issues, and recognizing emerging leaders. The challenge focuses on projects that promote mental health wellness, physical health, and community joy.
Mental Health Awareness
This isn’t the first time Megan Thee Stallion has advocated for mental health. The rapper recently was featured in a PSA ad with Seize The Awkward, a national campaign focused on mental health awareness. Her involvement in various initiatives highlights her commitment to prioritizing mental wellness.
G Herbo: Swervin’ Through Stress
Promoting mental health and wellness among public figures has become increasingly important, as exemplified by rapper G Herbo. In May 2023, he launched the non-profit organization Swervin’ Through Stress, to support Black individuals with mental health challenges.
