Five years on from season two – and nearly a decade from the inaugural series – Melbourne’s Illy has dropped the opener for season three of his iconic Friday Flips series.
The popular series has had Illy working with Australia’s most talented producers, from M-Phazes to Cam Bluff, flipping the works of Avicii, Peking Duk and (now) the Chicago Bulls theme song.
Hot off the back of the Michael Jordan docu-series ‘The Last Dance,’ Illy worked in tandem with Bluff to twist the Bulls’ theme song from motivational background music to raw rap banger.
As well known for his masterful pop melodies as he is for his clever lyricism, Illy makes sure the latter is not soon forgotten as he puts forward an impressive and commanding bar-heavy display, delivering a mountain of basketball punches that will have any NBA fan buzzed.
