Adrienne Bailon, known for her stints in both 3LW and Cheetah Girls, spilled the tea on the “We Said What We Said” podcast. The talented singer and actress revealed that Grammy-winning artist Solange Knowles was initially in the running for the role of “Aqua” in the iconic Disney Cheetah Girls series.
Recalling the fateful day, Bailon shared, “Literally the next day, I ended up finding out that I got the role. And at the time, I was told the other girls that were chosen were Raven-Symone as Galleria, Sabrina Bryan as Dorinda, myself as Chanel, and Solange as Aqua.”
Solange’s “Aqua” Character Had A Texas Accent
Despite being set to play the character from Houston, Texas, with a Texan accent and an iconic hot sauce bottle mention, Solange ultimately did not take on the role. Former 3LW group member, Kiely Williams, stepped in to fill the gap.
