NEWS: Frankie Goes to Hollywood to reunite for Eurovision Welcome Concert

Liverpool legends, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, are set to reunite for the first time in 36 years. The band will perform at the National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome outside St George’s Hall in Liverpool on 7th of May with the final taking place on Saturday 13th of May. The band formed in Liverpool in 1980 and had seminal number one hits with ‘Two Tribes’, ‘The Power Of Love’ and ‘Relax’.

The show will “celebrate Liverpool’s incredible musicality” and will also feature performances from bands with a connections to the city including Atomic Kitten, The Real Thing and The Lightning Seeds.

Conchita Wurst, the 2014 Eurovision winner from Austria, and 2016 Ukrainian winner Jamala, will also take part in the 90-minute star studded extravaganza hosted by DJ and presenter AJ Odudu and comedian Joel Domnett.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas, The Royle Family’s Ricky Tomlinson and Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne are set to make a cameo on the night.

Over 9,000 tickets for The National Lottery’s Big Eurovision Welcome will be released today (Tuesday 25th April) at midday BST, with fans able to buy them for free (with a £2 service fee) on the event’s website.
