Today, WinterWonderGrass Tahoe announced who will perform at the Palisades Tahoe ski resort in California on April 5-7 for its eighth annual gathering. The event, nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains, will feature the artistry of Sierra Ferrell, The Devil Makes Three, Paul Cauthen, The Infamous Stringdusters and many more.
Ferrell is not the only Sierra set to celebrate bluegrass, jamgrass, Americana and roots music during the event, Sierra Hull’s musical inclinations will also echo outward during the event. Other performers include Andy Frasco & the U.N., Lindsay Lou, Sam Grisman Project, WinterWonderWomen, Pickin’ on the Dead, Clay Street Unit, Shadowgrass, Lil Smokies, the supergroup Mighty Poplar (featuring Andrew Marlin, Noam Pikelny, Chris Eldridge, and Greg Garrison), Diggin’ Dirt, Tejon Street Corner Thieves, Two Runner, Caltucky, Boot Juice, Cast Iron, and Broken Compass Bluegrass.
Much like its sister festival, WinterWonderGrass Steamboat, which will also see headlining performances from Ferrell, The Infamous Stringdusters and Cauthen, the celebration at the Palisades Tahoe will celebrate music in the mountains while fostering a community. According to founder Scotty Stoughton, the core intent is to create unity and infuse festival goers with a desire to sustain that spirit and the planet year-round.
“We cultivate and nurture the relationship between nature, music and family,” said Stoughton, who launched the original WinterWonderGrass festival in 2013 and added Tahoe in 2015, in a press release. To that end, the packed list of 2024 Tahoe artists includes many who are returning.
WinterWonderGrass festivals include Steamboat, March 1-3 in Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Tahoe, April 5-7 in Olympic Valley, Calif.; BajaWonderGrass, April 24-26 at La Tuna, El Sargento, Baja California Sur, Mexico; and May-through-September RiverWonderGrass trips, to be announced on Nov. 7.
