Newport Folk Festival is continuing to build anticipation for its 67th annual presentation, unveiling a fresh round of artist additions that span a diverse spectrum of genres. Returning to the historic grounds of Fort Adams State Park in Newport, R.I., from July 24-26, the festival is set to host a blend of legendary staples, stadium-filling acts, and rising stars.
Among the most anticipated returns is Rhode Island’s own alt-Americana outfit, Deer Tick. Their Friday performance, billed as “Deer Tick and Friends,” marks their fifth appearance at the festival since 2009 and coincides with the release of their ninth studio album, Coin-O-Matic. Other returning favorites include Lucy Dacus and Courtney Marie Andrews, both of whom have become fixtures at the event since 2019, continuing to support their acclaimed projects Forever is a Feeling and Valentine, respectively. Additionally, The Lumineers are slated to return to the Newport stage for the first time since 2012, following the success of their recent Automatic World Tour.
The 2026 lineup also features notable first-time performers, most prominently the esteemed funk collective Vulfpeck. Their inclusion is particularly significant given their concurrent headlining slot at the Newport Jazz Festival the following weekend. The festival will also showcase the collaborative spirit of the scene, with Vulfpeck’s Cory Wong and Joe Dart performing alongside The Fearless Flyers, a group that also features Snarky Puppy’s Mark Lettieri and Newport Jazz Festival Artistic Director Nate Smith. Further newcomers to the Newport stage include Brandon Flowers and Tiny Habits.
These artists join a previously announced roster that highlights the festival’s commitment to both legacy and innovation. The 2026 bill already includes heavy hitters such as the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Brandi Carlile, Lauryn Hill, and Hayley Williams & Friends. The diverse programming also features acts like Wednesday, Dawes, Punch Brothers, Courtney Barnett, Cat Power, and a special collaborative set from Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, who will present their Grateful Dead Acoustic Reckoning.
