New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Expands to Eight Days in 2024, Outlines Opening Day

The iconic, beloved and revered New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is set to further its history in 2024 by extending its celebration of music, culture, and New Orleans to eight days. The festival also introduced a new opening day, marking Thursday, April 25, as the kickoff date for the event, which, as is tradition, will unfold over two consecutive weekends.

The festival, which has been captivating music enthusiasts since its inception in 1970, will now run have its first weekend commence from Thursday, April 25 – Sunday, April 28, while the second weekend will go on from Thursday, May 2 – Sunday, May 5.

Set against the backdrop of the historic Fair Grounds Race Course, New Orleans Jazz Fest boasts a staggering lineup of over 5,000 musicians over 14 stages, offering an unparalleled spectrum of musical genres. From jazz to blues, rock to gospel, and everything in between, the festival curates an auditory feast that could only be matched by the cuisine also found on-site.

Additionally, the festival will also host a crafts fair showcasing local artisans to deliver the rooted, and sacred atmosphere that is the spirit of New Orleans and Louisiana.
