Bumbershoot Festival Delivers Daily Lineup Schedule, Adds Pussy Riot, Maya Jane Coles and More

Bumbershoot Festival has announced the daily artist lineups for their Labor Day Weekend event and a handful of new additions to the bill. Bumbershoot 2023, which is slated to occur on Sept. 2 and 3 at the Seattle Center, will bring together an eclectic mix of nationally touring and emerging artists to celebrate the festival’s 50th anniversary.

Newly announced musicians on Saturday’s bill include producer and DJ Maya Jane Coles and local indie-rock outfit TV Star. Previously announced headliners scheduled to take the stage on Saturday features Sleater-Kinney, electronic singer and producer Zhu, A Fire Inside, Brittany Howard and local legends Sunny Day Real Estate. Additional day one performances are expected from Durand Jones, Matt and Kim, Ride, Jacob Banks, Major League DJZ, Domi & JD Beck, The Dip, Puddles Pity Party  and more.

Sunday will see newly announced sets from Pussy Riot, along with the indie garage punk quartet Shannon and the Clams. Other top-billing acts on Sunday include The Revivalists, post-hardcore outfit Jawbreaker, U.K.-based producer Fatboy Slim and one-time Seattle native Band of Horses. Bomba Estereo, Uncle Waffles, A-Track and Valerie June, Benny The Butcher, The Rebirth Brass Band, Temples and The Dandy Warhols are also set to perform.

In addition to the live music, Bumbershoot will offer a variety of immersive arts experiences, including pole dancing, drag performances, large-scale sculpture and film installations, nail art, vintage clothing vendors and a cat circus. Fans can also keep things moving between sets with on-site roller skating, pogo sticks, jump rope and more.

Weekend passes and single-day tickets are available now on the festival website. This year, a portion of all festival proceeds will support the newly-launched Bumbershoot Workforce Development Program, which provides tuition-free skill-building opportunities for young people from historically marginalized communities to enter the live music industry.
