The 34th annual IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards nominees were announced today in a live event at the SiriusXM studios in Nashville, Tenn. In addition, a list of indictees into the Bluegrass Hall of Fame was also delivered. The IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards will be held on Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts in Raleigh, N.C.
Today’s announcement includes the “Entertainer of the Year” nominees, featuring the Appalachian Road Show, Del McCoury Band, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, and reigning recipient Billy Strings. Noted in its press release, the IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards said that Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Del McCoury Band and Michael Cleveland received the most nominations this year.
As previously mentioned, a list of inductees for the Bluegrass Hall of Fame was also shared and includes Sam Bush, Wilma Lee Cooper and David Grisman. Additionally, the following were named as recipients of the Distinguished Achievement Award: The Bluegrass Situation, Tom Ewing, Red Wine, Terry Baucom, and Carl Goldstein.
The results will be revealed at the IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 28, at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. Awards are voted on by the professional membership of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), the professional nonprofit association for the bluegrass music industry.
