Singer-songwriter and producer Ahnwar Yancey’s new single “Everything U Need” is his way of apologizing for all the pain and heartbreak he’s caused, especially to the women he’s hurt. The song depicts real events from Ahnwar’s life, when he used to be reckless and careless, not taking into account the mess he left behind.
Yancey comes clean about how he’s evolved as an artist and as a person over the years. The gospel artist discusses the way he manages his priorities to make room for his family; “I think years of being single fosters selfishness in us all. You’ve spent years worrying and focusing on yourself and now there’s someone else in the picture who deserves and demands your time and attention. We have to learn how to be married. Folks have to learn how to be “good” parents. It’s not innate. It is a process. Those willing to work through that process tend to come out stronger on the other side.”
Ahnwar Yancey’s strong vocals and unconventional way of arranging music give the artist a chance to bring a new perspective to the gospel genre. “Everything U Need” celebrates God and His mercy, encouraging forgiveness and tolerance.
