Something’s Not Adding Up

The investigation into the murder of the mother of Young Thug’s son is ongoing, with police stating they have detained an unidentified individual. However, new information by an intrepid local journalist indicates that the bowling alley shooting was not over a bowling ball and may be gang-related.

On the night of March 16th at the Metro Fun Center bowling alley in Atlanta, Lakevia Jackson, mother of rapper Young Thug’s 14-year-old son, was shot and killed. Reports by Atlanta Police were that what led to her murder was an argument over a bowling ball.

According to journalist and Atlanta’s Fox 5 contributor George Chidi, there could be more to this than just a simple random act of violence over a dispute. Chidi has obtained extensive documents related to known gangs in the Atlanta area and has spoken to the family of the victim, Ms. Jackson.  He told SOHH.com that “friends of [Jackson], who were present say that she was not really actively involved in the argument at all,” and that more is at play in this case.

Chidi shared with SOHH.com his extensive research that points to his conclusion that Jackson could have been a target due to her relationship to YSL gang affiliate, Young Thug.  He says the shooting could have been associated with a longstanding gang beef on the streets of Atlanta between YSL and YFN and that he thinks “someone was trying to get to Young Thug anyway that they could get to him.”

APD Is Keeping Quiet

Atlanta Police will not comment on the investigation at all. They also wouldn’t share if they feel the homicide was gang-related. What they did share is that they did detain one person but have not named them as a suspect at this point.

The police have released information  thus far stating that “on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at around 10:50 pm officers responded to Metro Fun Center 1959 Metropolitan Pkwy SW on a report of a person dead “with multiple gunshot wounds.”  Atlanta PD state that their preliminary investigation indicates that the incident “began with a dispute over a bowling ball which escalated to gunfire.”

The investigation is continuing.

YFN Lucci And YSL Young Thug Beef Explored

YSL affiliate Young Thug has not made a public statement about the killing and he has been relatively inactive on social media since March 17th when he promoted his appearance at SXSW.

Thugger has had an ongoing beef with YFN affiliate, YFN Lucci, who was recently stabbed and received death threats in a Fulton County jail while awaiting trial on murder and racketeering charges.

According to court documents obtained by SOHH, the attacks point to an inside job involving correction officers.  On March 1, during a court proceeding at the Fulton County Courthouse in Georgia, YFN Lucci, whose real name is Rayshawn Bennett, asked for an “EMERGENCY MOTION FOR BOND DUE TO MATERIAL CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES,” stating that he was stabbed in jail and has a bounty on his head.

The motion stated that on February 9th, “another inmate stabbed Defendant (Lucci) while he was in protective custody on the 6 Floor (North) at the Fulton County Jail. Specifically, the other inmate approached Defendant from behind while Defendant was participating in a video visitation.”

The connection between the recent YFN Lucci stabbing and the murder of the mother of Young Thug’s son, Lakevia Jackson, is currently being explored.
