On Wednesday, March 16th, Miami rapper Baby Cino was gunned down. He had just been released from jail just hours before he was murdered in what appears to be a premeditated ambush.

Baby Cino Targeted & Killed

After being released from Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, 20-year-old rapper Timothy Starks, known as “Baby Cino” was shot and killed just a few blocks from the jail in broad daylight.  The timing and precision of the attack point to a premeditated and planned ambush by assailants who had information about Cino’s release.

At around 2:53 pm EST on March 16, Cino was a passenger in a red, 4-door Nissan Altima when the assailant shot at least 40 bullets into the vehicle,  striking the hip hop artist in the head and killing him immediately. The driver and friend that picked him up from jail – Dante’ Collins Banks – was also wounded in the attack but survived.

Baby Cino gained prominence in Miami as an up and coming rapper with his hit “Big Haiti Shottas”

Police Investigators Asking For Tips

Police are relying on the public for answers to the murder of Baby Cino and are actively fielding tips to help solve the homicide. 

According to investigators, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to 9-1-1 calls of a shooting on SR 826 northbound in the area of Okeechobee Road.  Upon their arrival, they observed a red Nissan Altima, with multiple bullet holes, that had crashed into the wall at the Okeechobee Road northbound entrance ramp.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded, and the passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver was airlifted to JMH Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition. There is no subject(s) information, however, a dark-colored vehicle was seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
