OVO x NFL

Rap superstar Drake’s Toronto-based label and clothing line, OVO or October’s Very Own, has teamed up with the NFL to create a new collection for all 32 NFL teams, according to a Billboard report. Drizzy is an avid sports fan who also plays basketball in his free time.

The Her Loss rapper’s OVO team shared pictures on its official Twitter and Instagram page.

One of the rappers who modeled some of the new apparel includes rap icon and frequent collaborator, Lil Wayne. Weezy, who also recently announced his upcoming tourmodeled a jacket and hoodie to represent his favorite NFL team, the Green Bay Packers.

Buffalo rapper Benny The Butcher also showed off a jacket and other pieces repping his favorite team, the Buffalo Bills.

The collection is set to drop on Feb. 3 on OVO’s website.

Hip-Hop x Sports

Hip-hop has significantly impacted sports culture. There have been many investments and partnerships with artists over the years, including Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill, who also invested in the sports headwear company LIDS in 2019.

In addition, rap legend Jay-Z collaborated with headwear company New Era in 2017 but was later sued by Major League Baseball for $10M. The lawsuit was due to Jay’s Roc Nation logo implemented on the hats.

Drake To Be Honored By FC Barcelona With OVO Owl Jerseys

Speaking of hip-hop and sports, rap superstar Drake was also honored last October by soccer franchise FC Barcelona with his famous OVO owl on their jerseys for a match on Oct.16. The jerseys were red with a yellow outline of the owl on the front.
