Amazon Music Launches “Hip-Hop X Siempre” Latin Rap Campaign To Celebrate Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary

Amazon Music is set to launch a Latin rap campaign called Hip-Hop X Siempre in honor of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. This campaign explores the fusion of Spanish language hip-hop and will feature artists such as Fat Joe, N.O.R.E., and more. Through unique programming, editorial content, and exclusive releases, Amazon Music invites audiences to delve into the vibrant world of Latin rap.

“Hip-Hop X Siempre” Latin Rap Campaign

As part of the Hip-Hop X Siempre campaign, Amazon Music will showcase talented Latin rap artists, including Bronx-born Puerto Rican rapper Fat Joe and  N.O.R.E., the esteemed Latino/Black rapper formerly from the rap group CNN.

Collaboration With DJ Tony Touch & Documentary Release

Amazon Music has partnered with DJ Tony Touch to create an original score titled Toca’s Theme for an upcoming documentary. This documentary, set to release on May 24, will delve into the personal perspectives of Latin rappers, shedding light on what the genre means to them. 

The documentary produced by Jesse Torrero will include insightful interviews and appearances by acclaimed artists like Fat Joe, N.O.R.E., B-Real, Residente, Eladio Carrion, Snow Tha Product, and more.

Premiere, Panel Discussion & Film Festival Screening

Following the documentary premiere, a special panel discussion will feature Jesse Torrero and prominent Latin celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Karol G, and Nicky Jam. This panel will provide an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations about the impact and significance of Latin rap. 

Furthermore, the documentary will be screened at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival on June 1, offering a platform to showcase its powerful storytelling and celebrate the Latin rap movement.

Other noteworthy Latino rappers include Fabolous, AZ, Jim Jones and Cardi B.

New Playlists & Tribute To Hip-Hop’s 50th Anniversary

Within the Hip-Hop X Siempre campaign, Amazon Music has curated new playlists, including “Sin Filtro,” “pov:ur hyped,” “Puro trap,” and “Puro rap.” These playlists provide listeners with diverse Latin rap tracks, highlighting the genre’s versatility and cultural impact. 

The campaign is a tribute to hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, acknowledging its enduring legacy and influence on music and culture.

In recent news, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, hosts of the popular podcast Drink Champs, recently signed a licensing deal with Interval Presents. Furthermore, Tekashi 6ix9ine, a prominent Latino rapper, made headlines for visiting Uganda to film a music video for his new song “Wapae” after being inspired by a clip of Ugandan children dancing to the track.

Amazon Music also launched a campaign honoring hip-hop’s 50th anniversary, paying tribute to Queen Latifah for her significant contributions to women in hip-hop.
