Rockaway Beach Announces First Wave of Artists for 2027

Winter’s premier alternative and tastemaker live event is set to return to the Butlin’s Bognor Regis site in January 2027. Now entering its 12th year, the independent Rockaway Beach festival has firmly established itself as the definitive way to shake off the post-holiday blues, blending legendary acts with emerging talent destined to define their generation.

Beyond the music, the festival offers a unique, immersive experience. Attendees can engage in artist Q&As, discussions, pub quizzes, and enjoy the site’s extensive amenities, including arcade games, bowling, and a full indoor swimming complex and spa. With accommodation options ranging from hotel rooms to seaside chalets—all starting at just £99 per person—the event provides an accessible, all-in-one escape.

A Diverse and Dynamic Lineup

The festival has officially unveiled its first wave of artists for the 2027 edition. Headlining the bill are indie icons The Charlatans and the intense, emotive sounds of The Twilight Sad. In a bold move for the opening night, the festival will feature a co-headline performance from Getdown Services and Sprints, both of whom bring a raw, punk-infused energy to the stage.

The initial announcement also includes a host of exciting acts such as Cockney Rejects, Madra Salach, Alien Chicks, Bis, Congratulations, Cowboy Hunters, Lemonsuckr, Makeshift Art Bar, Katie Malco, Modern Woman, Mouth Ulcers, Nightbus, Pigeon, SILVERWINGKILLER, and Vona Vella. BBC 6music DJs Chris Hawkins and Steve Lamacq will also be on hand to keep the atmosphere electric.

A Legacy of Live Music

Reflecting on the longevity of The Charlatans, festival founder Ian Crowther noted, “The Charlatans have soundtracked so many of our lives. Forty years on, they are still creating amazing new music. Last year’s We Are Love album was one of their best, reminding us why they remain true cross-generational icons.”

The festival continues to utilize the state-of-the-art Studio 36 venue, which provides an intimate yet high-fidelity experience for the 3,600 attendees. Despite the venue’s capacity for spectacle, the festival maintains its reputation for being a “live mix tape,” with minimal stage clashes and a friendly, communal atmosphere.

With 75% of tickets already claimed following three consecutive sell-out years, fans are encouraged to book early. All packages include three nights of accommodation and full access to the festival program. For more information and to secure your spot, visit www.rockawaybeach.co.uk.
