NEWS: Moseley Folk Festival adds The Mary Wallopers

More great news has just arrived from the Moseley Folk and Arts Festival!

On the very same night (Saturday) as Éire’s legendary The Saw Doctors, the ever-popular festival will be welcoming one of Ireland’s fastest-rising stars, The Mary Wallopers, the contemporary folk music group based in Dundalk, County Louth.

Also added to the festival bill are Jim, the Balearic/ folk/ rock project from Crazy P’s Jim Baron (Saturday); the Birmingham-based Zimbabwean mbira player Millicent Chapanda (Sunday); Glastonbury Emerging Talent Winner 2022, Lewis McLaughlin (Sunday); hoedown favourites Cut A Shine (Sunday); and Pop-Up Puppet Cinema (Friday and Saturday), who’ll be presenting their own unique takes on blockbuster movies Jaws and Back To The Future.

Skinny Lister, who recently released their fifth album, A Matter Of Life And Love, will play the Official After Party at the Irish bar, Nortons Digbeth, on Saturday night.

These join the previously announced headliners Squeeze, Graham Nash, Gwenno and Blindboy (Friday); The Saw Doctors, comedian Lou Sanders, Rozi Plain, broadcaster Mark Radcliffe (Saturday); and WilcoThe Proclaimers, Stornoway, Old Time Sailors and comic Josh Pugh (Sunday).

John Fell, Moseley Folk and Arts Festival’s Festival Manager said: “We’re very excited to welcome The Mary Wallopers to Saturday night – and to have them on the same day as the legendary Saw Doctors means it’s a rare chance to see two of the very best live bands from Ireland side-by-side.”

Tickets are £145 (adult, weekend), £57 (adult, day), £65 (U18, weekend), £32 (U18, day) and £320 (family) – plus booking fees.
