NEWS: GIITTV selects Janette King & Clwb Fuzz to play Focus Wales stage

We are excited to announce our acts for this years Focus Wales festival. Awesome Canadian artist Janette King and exciting Cardiff act Clwb Fuzz will grace the Parish on Friday the 8th of October going into the eary hours of Saturday the 9th of October.

The complexities of loss are a tough, often impossible thing to try and comprehend. Through the prism of house, alternative R&B and pop, the Vancouver-born, now Montréal-based producer and artist, Janette King attempts to decipher some of these difficulties on her debut album, What We Lost, released on June 25, 2021, via Hot Tramp Records. King’s songs here attempt to tap into the frightening intersection where searing pain and sadness can produce soaring new heights for art whilst simultaneously unpacking changes in her life such as the ending of romance, the loss of close family members, and at times, a loss of self.

Saturday October 9th, The Parish.

One of the most promising groups in Wales, Clwb Fuzz’s fearless commitment in creating an intoxicating wall of sound has already bestowed on them an impressive live reputation. That live intensity is perfectly captured by producer Tom Rees (Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard) on last years single ’No Heaven’, their first release on Libertino.

‘No Heaven’ is built on a darkly brooding bass line, purposive motorik drums and spiralling reverb rich guitars on which Emily whispers the lyrics in Nico-esque cool indifference.
