A New Chapter in Sound
Marco Benevento has officially announced the impending arrival of his latest studio effort, Glera, which serves as his debut release for Big Crown Records. The 14-track collection is slated for release on July 24, 2026, and promises to showcase the artist’s unique ability to weave complex rhythms and tonal textures into a cohesive, emotive experience. As a virtuosic keyboardist, composer, and bandleader, Benevento continues to push the boundaries of his craft, blending jazz roots with soul and reggae influences.
The Creative Process
Glera represents a significant evolution in Benevento’s artistic evolution. The project, which began over three years ago as a private exercise, eventually blossomed into a series of movements inspired by the rich, melodic landscapes of Italian film scores. Benevento approached the studio as an instrument itself, exploring experimental ideas that feel both cinematic and grounded. The result is a soundscape that moves fluidly between high-energy improvisation and atmospheric psych-pop, maintaining a groove-forward sensibility throughout.
The project began over three years ago as a private exercise that soon expanded into actualized movements inspired by Italian film scores, seductively rich in melody as they reached final form.
Initial Singles and Previews
To provide listeners with an early glimpse into the album, Benevento has released three new singles: “Houdini,” “Turandot” featuring Marianne Mirage, and “Frizzante.” These tracks, totaling just under nine minutes, highlight the project’s versatility. “Frizzante” serves as a spirited, high-energy instrumental opener, while “Houdini” leans into a drum-heavy, jazz-dipped aesthetic. The trio is rounded out by the dream-like, Italian-inspired “Turandot.”
With an impressive history of collaborations, including work with artists like Freddie Gibbs, Madlib, Clairo, and Leon Bridges, Benevento’s latest work is a testament to his commitment to craftsmanship. Glera is currently available for pre-order, inviting fans to prepare for a deep dive into his most personal and exploratory work to date.
