The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has delivered a list of 2023 nominees. The prestigious honor has been bestowed on 14 music industry hopefuls, all of whom have met eligibility standards for nomination, which requires that the artist/band release their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
Topping this year’s list are eight first-time nominees, including Willie Nelson, Waren Zevon, The White Stripes, Sheryl Crow, Missy Elliott, Joy Division/ New Order, Cyndi Lauper and George Micheal. Additional artists/bands named in the 2023 class of candidates are Kate Bush, Iron Maiden, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, The Spinners and A Tribe Called Quest.
In a video shared via YouTube by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame President & CEO Greg Harris, he stated, “These 14 artists have had a massive impact on the music we all love and celebrate,” before delivering the official list of nominees. View below.
Harris also added information about where fans can cast their votes, directing interested parties vote.rockhall.com. Before the conclusion of the announcement video, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame President & CEO reminded viewers that they would announce their official 2023 inductees in May.
