Daze Between New Orleans has outlined its official schedule for the Tuesday, May 2 through Wednesday, May 3 gathering, set to take place at The Big Easy’s historic Faubourg Brewery during the days between New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival weekends.
The impending event is presented by Dayglo, Relix, Live For Live Music, GMP Live, Purple Hat Productions, and Rose Tours and is set to commence with a 1 p.m. set on the Faubourg Stage courtesy of The Quickening. Additional programming will arrive a half hour later on the Brewery Stage when Relix editor-and-chief Dean Budnick hosts a conversation titled Help on The Way–featuring the Executive Director of the Rex Foundation (and former Grateful Dead manager) Cameron Sears and Soulive’s Eric Krasno.
The musical set will continue to unfold throughout the first day of the event, with Melt scheduled to play on the Daze Between Stage at 2 p.m. J & The Causeways are expected on the Faubourg Stage an hour later. Elsewhere on the Daze Between Stage, Lawrence will deliver an hour and 15-minute set, which arrives prior to Tank & The Bangas time slot at 5:15. The initial day of programming will wrap with a pair of sets provided by Goose.
Day two will pick up at 1 p.m. with an hour of music from the Honey Island Swamp Band. To follow, George Porter Jr. & Runnin’ Pardners will perform on the Daze Between Stage. Halfway through Porter’s gig, at 2:30 p.m., on the Brewery Stage, a conversation dubbed New Orleans Festival Express will bring together The Revivalists’ David Shaw, Neal Francis, Eggy’s Jake Brownstein, and Reed Mathis for a talk led by fellow Relix editor-and-chief, Mike Greenhaus.
In addition to engaging discussions, Eggy will perform a set of music at 3 p.m. on the Faubourg Stage. An ensuing set is expected from Shaw at 4 p.m., followed by Neal Francis’ highly anticipated frame at 5:15 p.m. The final concert of the 2023 edition of Daze Between comes from Goose, who will close out the event with two sets of music, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage.
