Today, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion announced the complete list of musicians who will be joining them at the Birthplace of Country in the border city of downtown Bristol, Tenn. + Va on Sept. 8 through 10. The event will be headlined by Nickel Creek, Margo Price, and Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers.
Along with the top-billing performers, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion will welcome Allison Russel, Watchhouse, Sierra Hull, Larkin Poe, The Mavericks, 49 Winchester, Marty Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, Darrell Scott’s Electrifying Band, and Amythyst Kiah. The final phase of artist additions, which was dropped earlier this week, saw the Oliver Wood Trio, Alison Brown, Jim Lauderdale, Daniel Donato, Sons of the East, Illiterate Light, Handmade Moments, TK & The Holy Know-Nothings, The Quebec Sisters and many more added to the massive celebration.
Bristol Rhythm & Roots is organized by the non-profit Birthplace of Country Music and will continue its mission of equity and inclusion in 2023 with a lineup that’s nearly 50% female or has at least one female in each outfit. In line with their initiative, the festival and the BCM Museum will have a special exhibit titled I’ve Endured: Women in Old-Time Music. The exhibit is just steps away from the festival entrance and will honor female musicians that trailblazed country music, including Ola Belle Reed, Mother Maybelle and Sara Carter, Lily May Ledford, Etta Baker, Alice Gerrard and more. Tickets for the Birthplace of Country Music Museum are sold separately.
