On Thursday, Dec. 7, Artist For Action To Prevent Gun Violence presented a night of music supporting the Sandy Hook Promise. The event doubled as the launch concert for A Father’s Promise, a movie executively produced by Sheryl Crow, telling the story of musician Mark Barden, whose life changed instantly when his son was one of 26 murdered during the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings in 2012.
The event boasted an all-star lineup of musical talent, including Crow and Barden, as well as fellow contributors Peter Frampton, Kevin Bacon, Jimmy Vivino, Aztec Two Step, Jen Chapin, Bernie Williams, the Alternate Routes, The Dumes, Rozzi and others, who took the stage during the night and delivered choice songs.
Notably, A Father’s Promise highlights the efforts and setbacks families of victims have faced in their fight for sensible gun legislation. As Frampton mentioned during the event, gun violence is now the leading killer of children in the U.S.
In attendance was photographer Bill Kelly, who shared his shots from the event.
