Cancelled tours, members behind bars and ongoing trouble with police, Mt Druitt collective OneFour faced perhaps their most bittersweet year in 2019, as they erupted into the mainstream’s attention in each a negative and positive light.
While the downs were steep, the wins were equally weighted, with the crew cultivating a passionate mass following off the back of uber-successful singles ‘The Message’, ‘Spot The Difference’ and ‘Ladz In The Hood’. All in all, however, 2019 was a confusing year for OneFour and their fans alike.
Now, in 2020, OneFour announced their intent to push forward with their introspective record ‘Welcome To Prison’, followed by the brand new A$AP Ferg collaboration, ‘Say It Again‘ – produced by Gotcha (UK) and i.amsolo (AUS).
Core OneFour members J Emz and Spenny bring a brash, defiant energy to the West Sydney-meets-Harlem link up, as A$AP Ferg comes through with a classic, cut-throat Ferg verse.
The feature may seem a little out of the blue to some, so let’s set the scene of how this all came together.
During his 2020 Australian tour, A$AP Ferg reached out to the Mt Druitt crew and after exchanging a few messages, the acts met up, wrote, recorded and filmed the powerful new single all inside 24 hours – shot on location in Mt Druitt.
‘Say It Again’ serves as a mission statement for OneFour, in what feels like the first page of a new chapter for the West Sydney powerhouse.
