Last night, the Sphere in Las Vegas shared a very welcomed surprise on its exterior 580,000-square-foot LED display: Phish are coming. The beloved jamband, known for their live visual and sonic spectacles, will perform four unique shows at the largest spherical structure in the world on April 18, 19, 20 and 21.
“From the moment we first heard about Sphere and its potential, we’ve been dreaming up ways to bring our show to this breathtaking canvas,” said Trey Anastasio, Phish guitarist and vocalist, in a press release. “We’re thrilled to present this completely unique experience to Phish fans.”
The venue can host 20,000 standing guests or 17,500 seated spectators, and its spatial audio system uses an estimated 160,000 speakers, all of which will be dedicated to the unmistakable inclinations of Anastasio, Jon Fishman, Page McConnell and Mike Gordon. On the social media posts announcing the shows, which showcased a video displayed on the venue’s exterior, the band shared that “These will be Phish’s only shows at Sphere in 2024.”
