Duran Duran have announced a new Halloween-themed album. Danse Macabre, to be released on October 27th, will be the band’s first record featuring original guitarist Andy Taylor for nearly 20 years.
The 13-song album is a collection of new songs, re-recordings of previous hits and covers of songs by artists including Talking Heads, Billie Eilish and the Rolling Stones.
A retailer taking preorders for the album revealed details on its website earlier this month – before rushing to remove the webpage.
‘Danse Macabre’ was revealed on Duran Duran’s official channels along with a new single from the album.
The band already revealed in March they are working on a ‘special new music project’ involving Taylor and that he would ‘join us on guitar on a few tracks’.
Taylor is currently receiving treatment for advanced prostate cancer in London but is believed to have recorded his parts at his home studio in Ibiza.
Also making an appearance is Warren Cuccurullo who played with the band between 1986 and 2001 and replaced Taylor.
It’s believed Taylor and Cuccurullo play guitar on the re-recordings of songs they originally contributed to when they were first in the band.
Long-time friend and Nile Rogers, who still appears live with the band and Victoria De Angelis from Italian band Måneskin also guest star.
