Levitation Music Festival has announced the dates, venues and initial artist lineup for this year’s annual weekend event, slated to take place Halloween weekend in Austin, Texas. The four-day festival will occur from Oct. 26 through 29, showcasing the spirit of sonic experimentation through an eclectic lineup of artists.
Headliners and highlights for the 2023 event include Unwound (Oct. 26), Oneohtrix Point Never (Oct. 26), Unknown Mortal Orchestra (Oct. 27), Flying Lotus (Oct. 27), The Brian Jonestown Massacre (Oct. 28), BADBADNOTGOOD (Oct. 29), Beach Fossils (Oct. 29) and the founding group The Black Angels (Oct. 28).
The first day of the festival will see performances by Ty Segall & Freedom Band, Shannon and the Clams, The Church, Codeine, Jockstrap, Yeule, Dead Meadow, Karate, Chisel, Slow Pulp, Twin Tribes, Rose City Band, Jonathan Bree, Water from Your Eyes, LSD and the Search For God, Nuovo Testamento, Ecstatic Vision, Flat Worms, 1000mods, Sacred Skin, Vosh, Skull Practitioners, Annabelle Chairlegs, Fcukers, Marion Raw and Font.
Day two features Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, High on Fire, Blonde Redhead, Allah-Las, Alan Palomo (Neon Indian), Eshu Tune (Hannibal Buress), Bully, Crack Cloud, Warmduscher, Civic, Tanukichan, Ulrika Spacek, Salami Rose Joe Louis, Ganser, Money Chicha, Fat Dog, Blushing, The Well, Holy Wave, Sam Burton and Amulets.
Saturday presents appearances by Amyl and the Sniffers, Durand Jones, The Dandy Warhols, Mercury Rev’s Clear Light Ensemble, Speedy Ortiz, Dumbo Gets Mad, Sonido Gallo Negro, Palehound, Militarie Gun. Lorelle Meets The Obsolete, Die Spitz, Gio Chamba, Ghost Funk Orchestra and El Combo Oscuro.
The final day closes out the festival with performances by Altin Gün, Turnover, Death From Above 1979, Armand Hammer, Pigs x7, Say She She, Pachyman, JJUUJJUU, Mustard Service, Paul Cherry, Djunah, Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol and Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band.
Details pertaining to the chosen venues for the 2023 gathering were also included in this announcement and feature familiar staples like Stubb’s, Mohawk, Empire, Hotel Vegas, Elysium, Parish, Antone’s and 13th Floor, plus two new venues: The Far Out Lounge and Concourse Project.
