Acclaimed singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile has delighted fans with her heartfelt rendition of Diana Ross’ iconic song “Home.” The cover premiered on the latest episode of the popular TV series Ted Lasso, showcasing Carlile’s immense talent and soulful interpretation of The Wiz standout.
For this special rendition, Carlile assembled a stellar lineup of musicians, including former Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain, bassist Sebastian Steinberg, and pianist Dave Palmer. Adding to the magic, a talented string section composed of Chauntee and Monique Ross contributed their skills to the arrangement.
While it remains unknown if Carlile is an avid viewer of the Apple TV+ series, it’s worth noting her connection to Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis. In November 2020, Carlile took part in Sudeikis’ Thundergong benefit live stream, and the pair later reunited in Oct. 23, 2021 for a memorable joint appearance as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
Looking ahead, Carlile has an exciting summer in store as she prepares to embark on a tour starting in June. The highly anticipated tour will commence with Carlile’s Echoes Through the Canyon weekend at the majestic Gorge Amphitheater in Washington. The three-night event holds special significance as it marks Joni Mitchell’s first ticketed performance in over two decades, adding an extra layer of anticipation and excitement.
