Artists Embrace Sobriety
This revelation from Young M.A. comes in the wake of other artists speaking out about their struggles with substance abuse.
Nicki Minaj, in a recent interview with Vogue, opened up about her addiction to Percocet, which was originally prescribed to help with severe menstrual cramps. Minaj emphasized:
“No one told me that this was a narcotic and this was addictive. Luckily I was able to ground myself. But — once an addict, always an addict. I feel like if you’ve ever experienced addiction to anything, which I have, you always have to think twice and three times about the choices that you make.”
Ari Lennox also shared her battle with alcoholism, celebrating her 7-month sobriety milestone in July 2023. The R&B singer expressed how sobriety has brought positive changes to her life.
