Things got heated on the Geto Boys Reloaded podcast over Scarface hitting the Grammys stage and performing their famous 1991 hit without inviting Willie D. At this year’s Grammys there was a 50th celebration of hip-hop.
Willie Calls Scarface “Selfish”
Recently, Scarface and Willie D were in a heated argument. The disagreement was sparked when Willie felt disappointed after not receiving a call from Scarface to perform “My Mind Playing Tricks On Me” alongside him to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards.
Scarface told Willie, “it didn’t cross my mind.” to give him the call to perform with him.”
During the podcast conversation, Willie D called the “Smile” artist a “selfish ass n*gga” after Scarface said he was glad to perform.
“I’m so fucking glad they called me Willie, I’m so glad that Quest reached out to me to do that motherfucking song bro, I’m happy about that shit man.”
Willie D added that he doesn’t care about the Grammys, but “hoes” care about the Geto Boys.
“I really don’t give a fuck about the Grammys,” Willie D said. “I care about none of them gatekeeping ass niggas, none of that shit that they do what I care about is the Geto Boys.”
50th Hip-Hop Anniversary Performance
Scarface performed “My Mind Playing Tricks On Me” in a Grammy segment of hip-hop artists celebrating 50 years of the culture on Feb. 5.
The other performances consisted of some of rap’s greatest pioneers like LL Cool J himself, Grandmaster Flash, Ice-T, The Roots, Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Rakim, QueenLatifah, Run DMC, The LOX, Public Enemy, and more.
