SOHH Exclusive: Ice Cube’s BIG3 Game Takes Over Spectrum Center In Charlotte

Ice Cube’s BIG3 game recently occurred in Charlotte, NC, at the Spectrum Center, home of the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. The event featured games between teams composed of former NCAA and NBA players. Each round consisted of two halves, and the first team to reach 50 points would be declared the winner. Former NBA stars and Hall of Famers coached the teams.

Ice Cube’s BIG3 Game In Charlotte

The games attracted a large crowd at the Spectrum Center, with five games played throughout the day. The Triplets defeated the Ball Hogs with a final score of 50-34, while Trilogy emerged victorious over the Ghost Ballers with the same score. 

The Killer 3’s had a thrilling victory over Power, winning 51-46. Notably, the Killer 3’s were coached by former NBA star Charles Oakley and featured former NBA player Josh Powell. Power, coached by women’s basketball legend Nancy Lieberman, included former NBA players Cuttino Mobley, Royce White, and Glen Rice.

3’s Company vs. The Enemies

Other games included 3’s Company defeating The Enemies 50-42 and Tri-State defeating Bivouac with a score of 51-40. 3’s Company showcased a strong performance from former NBA player Michael Beasley, along with teammates Mario Chalmers and Tony Allen. The Enemies, coached by former NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, featured former NBA players Nick Young, Quincy Miller, and Jordan Crawford

Tri-State, coached by NBA legend Julius “Dr. J” Erving, had an impressive showing from former NBA star Jason Richardson and teammates Justin Dentman and Devin Ebanks. Bivouac, coached by NBA Hall of Famer Gary Payton, included former players Gerald Green, Corey Brewer, and Ryan Hollins.

Ice Cube Makes An Appearance

Ice Cube was present courtside throughout the day of games, showing his support. He later thanked the fans for coming out and watching each game. The next city on the BIG3 tour is Detroit, where the games will be held at Little Caesars Arena, the home of the Detroit Pistons.

Ice Cube has criticized the NBA in the past, feeling that they are working against him and the BIG3. He has claimed that they are “blackballing” him.
