‘Seize The Awkward’
Megan Thee Stallion has recently supported mental health awareness and her alma mater, Texas Southern University, through two distinct initiatives. The “Plan B” rapper starred in a new PSA commercial for “Seize The Awkward,” a national campaign focused on mental health.
The campaign aims to equip young adults with the tools to converse openly about mental health with their peers. Megan’s involvement in the campaign comes after the challenges she faced in the media, making her highly anticipated comeback all the more meaningful.
In 2020, Megan Thee Stallion became the victim of a shooting incident involving singer Tory Lanez. Lanez has since pleaded guilty and is now facing ten years in prison for his actions.
Megan has been vocal about her experience and the treatment she received following the incident, stating how she has prioritized her mental well-being and focusing on her personal growth.
‘Flamin’ Hot University’
Additionally, the Houston Hottie has joined forces with Frito Lays to raise funds for Texas Southern University, where Megan aims to fund the historically black college scholarship. With their partnership, Megan and Frito Lays aim to raise $150,000 in scholarship funding for Texas Southern University.
Fans can contribute by purchasing Flamin’ Hot University-inspired merchandise, including varsity jackets, sweaters, and shorts.
Beyond her advocacy for mental health, Megan Thee Stallion has partnered with Frito Lays to support her alma mater, Texas Southern University. The collaboration involves a fictional institution called Flamin’ Hot University, to raise funding for the HBCU located in the Third Ward of Houston, Texas. Megan also takes on the role of the dean in the university’s newest advertisement.
