Jay-Z and Kanye West’s legendary collaboration, “N*ggas in Paris,” has officially reached diamond status. The iconic song, released as part of their joint album Watch The Throne in 2011, was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on June 12th, 2023.

Watch The Throne showcased the undeniable chemistry between two rap legends, and even after 12 years, their collaboration continues to make waves. The achievement of “N*ggas in Paris” going diamond is a testament to the enduring impact and popularity of the song.

Celebrating this milestone, Hit-Boy, the producer of the single, expressed his gratitude on Instagram, giving credit to Jay-Z and Kanye West for the opportunity. The producer’s caption read:

“Luv to Ye and Hov for the opportunity, I’m forever grateful.”

Jay-Z x Kanye Still Dominates

The official video for “N*ggas in Paris,” captures an electrifying live performance of the duo at the time, held at what was then called the Staples Center. The song was performed a total of 12 times during the concert until both artists were satisfied with the result.

Ye previously shared that the song was inspired by his experiences in Paris, stating:

“I am where art meets commercial. The sweet spot between the hood and Hollywood. Having a conversation with Karl Lagerfeld and Jay-Z within the same hour. When we’re in Paris dressing all crazy at fashion shows, we listening to Jay-Z. Jeezy in Paris, that’s what it is.”

Another standout track from the album, “Otis,” also achieved significant success, peaking at number 12 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It reached number 2 on both the Billboard Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. “Otis” was certified 2x platinum in 2011 for sales exceeding 2,000,000.

In other news, Jay-Z recently secured a legal victory in a case against Parlux Fragrances, resulting in a substantial payout of $6.78 million in unpaid royalties and interest. The mogul’s wealth continues to grow, adding to his accomplishments.
