Ice-T gets his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Feb. 15. The distinction highlights his lengthy rap and acting career. Ice-T joins other veteran rappers also honored late into their careers.
Rapper/actor Ice-T will receive his star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame on Feb. 17.
Ice-T shared the news on his Twitter page and quoted the tweet with his reaction.
“When I think about how many times I got arrested in Hollywood…. this is a trip,” Ice-T wrote.
The rapper-turned-actor rose to prominence in the 1980s and specialized in Gangsta Rap. He is also known for his role as Detective Odafin Tutuola on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Ice-T is another rapper who will be honored late into his career. Others include Missy Elliott and A Tribe Called Quest, who has been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame after both having long-standing careers of over 30 years.
Missy will also be honored along with rap greats Lil Wayne and Dr. Dre by The Recording Academy during Grammy Weekend at the Black Music Collective on Feb. 2.
In addition, West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg, iconic singer Sade and former rap/R&B producer Teddy Riley will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June.
Queens rap legend LL Cool J was also honored in 2021 with a statue built in his hometown of Corona Park, Queens.

The late Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle was honored on what would have been his 37th birthday in August. Nipsey was one of the 38 honorees for the 2022 Hollywood Walk Of Fame induction, along with Ashanti, DJ Khaled, George Clinton, Tracee Ellis Ross, and more.
