Davyon Johnson Named Honorary Member Of Sheriff’s Office
Davyon Johnson has been named an honorary member of the Sheriff’s office and was recognized by the Board of Education in his hometown of Muskogee, a town about 50 miles southeast of Tulsa.
“On December 9, Davyon performed the Heimlich maneuver on a classmate and that evening helped a woman leave her house, which was on fire,” the Muskogee County Sheriff wrote on Facebook last week.
Latricia Dawkins, the principal at Davyon’s school, told the Enid News and Eagle that a student was removing the cap from their water bottle to fill it up when the cap got stuck in his throat. Davyon jumped into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver, which dislodged the cap, saving the student.
Davyon has aspirations to become an EMT.
