Sterling Cupid’s “only one [ghettopop remix]” won’t be a sleeper hit much longer

Sterling Cupid’s “only one [ghettopop remix]” won’t be a sleeper hit much longer

2026 is shaping up to be a pretty good year for Sterling Cupid. At the start of February, the alt-popstar released “only one [ghettopop remix],” a bump-and-grind bop about being overly sprung on the dancefloor. It’s apparent from the first listen: this is a wicked banger, complete with neon synths that squiggle between giant, jiggling 808s and a truly gnarly breakdown coda.

The song has had real traction online, and that’s landed Sterling on Slayyyter’s Instagram story as well as everyone’s favorite bright green performance platform On The Radar Radio. I anticipate hearing this in DJ sets everywhere over the summer.

“only one [ghettopop remix]” is a remix of a track from Sterling’s September 2025 album n***a i’m a princess; “only one (lead me on)” is more of a lo-fi 8-bit jam that reminds me of tobi lou and Dylvinci. In 2024, Sterling did a joint mixtape with Atlanta rapper MuddyMya, all the bad hoes get sexy, with features from Mercury and DavidTheTragic.
