Celebrities, they’re just like us. They obsesses about onion rings, write Yelp restaurant reviews, and — in Charli xcx’s case — watch a shit ton of movies. The pop star’s secret Letterboxd account leaked just a few days before the New Year, revealing that amid her whirlwind 2024 schedule where she toured Brat and seemingly attended every red carpet there ever was, she also watched a whopping 212 movies in 2024. I guess there’s still a decent amount of downtime being a global pop star. (And yes, she did confirm that the account was legit.)

For the uninitiated, Letterboxd is a social media platform where users can log the movies they’ve seen as well as review them for their friends and the public. Charli seems to use her reviews as a space to make notes about future music collaborations (“Note to self: make next album w mica levi”), mood board about Brat (“Martha is brat”), and plan for the Grammys (“this film left me wondering whether i should wear a see through lilac gown to the grammys??”). Her Letterboxd’s arrival also comes at a fitting time as she gears up to make her Hollywood pivot, set to star in a smattering of movies directed by Gregg Araki and French director Romain Gavras.

Charli isn’t the only celeb whose Letterboxd has been leaked; The Bear‘s Ayo Edebiri, actress Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, director Sean Baker, Rowen Blanchard, and many more have their profiles open to the public.

A celebrity’s Letterboxd is as good a film guide as any, and if you’re looking to level up your film game, see a list of Charli xcx’s favorite movies she watched in 2024 (she gave them all five stars) as well as her reviews.
