Canadian politician Jagmeet Singh has publicly re-pledged his allegiance to Drake after the rapper called him a “goof” for attending Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Toronto this past weekend.

Singh, the former leader of Canada’s New Democratic Party, was spotted in the crowd of Lamar’s Grand National Tour show with SZA. His appearance apparently was angering enough to prompt Drake to message the politician calling him a “goof” via Instagram DM, which the rapper subsequently posted on his Instagram story.

Singh, now, seems to regret his attendance. “I went for SZA, not Kendrick. I was born in this city, I love this city. But real talk, I get it. I shouldn’t have gone at all,” he wrote in a note on Instagram on Monday, publicly responding to Drake’s message. “OVO and Drake have lifted up this city and [Canadian flag emoji]. For me it’ll always be Drake over Kendrick.”

Since April, Kendrick and SZA’s Grand National Tour has featured star-studded guest lineups and has broken records as the highest-grossing hip-hop concert.

Thousands of fans packed Toronto’s Rogers Center on June 12 and 13, screaming along to the grand finale, “Not Like Us,” and dissing Drake in his own backyard. On June 12, the ovation reportedly lasted over two minutes; on June 13, it was almost five. If this was the latest chapter of the Kendrick-Drake feud, it seems that Kendrick got the last laugh.
